Colquitt County jailer arrested for providing contraband to inmate

COLQUITT COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) — A Colquitt County jailer was arrested Monday on charges of providing contraband to an inmate.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, they received a request on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, from the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office to conduct an investigation into information received by Investigators that a Colquitt County Jailer was bringing contraband into a jail inmate.
The investigation revealed that 25-year-old Jailer Amber Richter brought prohibited contraband into the Colquitt County Jail and provided it to an inmate. This took place within the last two weeks. ....
