Diesel’s New Song ‘Six Steel Strings’ Is A Ross Wilson Song
If you think that new Diesel song has a bit of a Daddy Cool feel to it then you would be right. Diesel co-wrote ‘Six Steel Strings’ 30 years ago with Daddy Cool/Mondo Rock legend Ross Wilson.
“It was 1991”, says Diesel, “I think Ross (Wilson) saw me as a young bluesman in a long tradition. He asked about my background and put details into the lyrics, a tongue-in-cheek take on my life story in demo form that we knocked up together in an hour. It was only rediscovered when he moved house last year, and the timing couldn’t have been better because it’s such a perfect fit.”

Body Of Work follows the success of her international breakthrough smash Nanette and its follow-up Douglas, both of which have been released as Netflix specials.
She today announced a raft of Australian and New Zealand dates from July to November, as well as revealing the striking tour image, above. And while no European dates have yet been confirmed, she is expected here early in 2022.
Tweeting the news of the first dates, she said: ‘Here’s a bit of Hooray… I have a new show… it’s called BODY OF WORK… and I’ll be visiting lots of places across OZ and NZ.

MORGAN Rose’s unsettling play, “Little Girls Alone in the Woods”, is set in an ordinary town where girls have been going missing – maybe they’ve ventured into the bush themselves. It’s a modern twist on Euripides’ “Bacchae” and will be the year’s first show for Canberra Youth Theatre. Suitable for ages 13 and up. Courtyard Studio, Canberra Theatre Centre, May 19-22. CANBERRA Theatre Centre is getting behind new performance work with its development program, “New Works”, and expressions of interest are now open.
The Centre is offering two separate residencies to professional artists, or teams of artists in the Courtyard Studio in 2021.
In the “new ideas” area, Canberra Theatre Centre is offering a one-week residency for the creative development of a new performance from June 7-11.
Artists will have access to The Courtyard Studio from Monday to Friday to develop their ideas, and at the end of the week, the theatre centre will facilitate an invite-only industry showing to support the future of the work, covering all venue and associated costs, including technical support, as well as artist fees for up to six artists, with producing support from its programming team.
