Round 1 of the Arkansas Enduro Series was nothing short of a monumental weekend, pun intended! First and foremost this recap would not be possible without the hard work and collaboration of Mt Nebo State Park, Monument Trails and BikeNWA. These folks are dedicated and revel in their work to create amazing venues for mountain biking and cycling to grow. The state park was originally built in the 1930 s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The benefit of opening access to a place like Mt Nebo is proof in the pudding, you build it- Rock Solid Trail company that is- and they will come. Those guys truly built a trail-system that is monumental, the trail looks and feels like it belongs in a state park. ....

How about $1.95 million, then? That s what folks here poured into the fifth Abilene Gives, again obliterating the record. Donors were willing to support Camp Able, which took in an individual record of $112,000. The zoo totaled the most donors with 230. A total of 32 nonprofits took in at last $20,000. Lots of love flowed Tuesday as Abilene showed us the money!

Crazy. And it won t happen.
But the turnout for this year s city election has been next to nothing.
The first five days of early voting drew less than 900 Taylor County voters. Voting resumed Monday and Tuesday, and 706 people voted those two days to push the total to 1,599.
Election Day is Saturday.
Maybe everyone is waiting until the final day. But Saturday is a busy day in Abilene, though voting in this election requires more time to sign in to vote than it does making two selections.
We are voting to choose two of seven members of the Abilene City Council. That s 29% of the council. That s two votes that could make a difference in a big decision down the line. ....
