JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Post 14 Eagles left 12 runners on base on Friday evening as they lost 6-4 to the Mandan Post 40 Chiefs to begin the Phil Brown Classic. Jamestown never led on Friday, but the opportunities were there for the Eagles to go in front of Mandan. In the bottom of the fourth, Post 14 trailed 4-1 when Jacoby Nold cleared the bases with a double into the gap in left field that scored three and tied the game at four. The Chiefs would respond immediately in the fifth, regaining the lead for good. However, Jamestown did have a chance to take the lead in the bottom of the fifth when the Eagles loaded the bases with no one out, but Mandan starter Stetson Kuntz struck out two and got a groundout to work out of the jam. ....

(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Post 14 Eagles lost for the first time in the West Region this season on Tuesday as the Dickinson Volunteers defeated Jamestown 4-3 in game one before the Eagles crushed Dickinson 14-1 in game two. The Eagles got on the scoreboard in the first inning behind a leadoff single from Gage Orr, who eventually came around to score on a passed ball. The Jamestown offense struggled against the Dickinson pitching staff, etching just four total hits while leaving ten runners on base. Isaac Mimong had a 1-for-1 game with a double and a walk, and Nolan Nenow scored two runs as the courtesy runner for Mimong. ....
JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The combined efforts of Jacoby Nold and Carson Orr on the mound Thursday night propelled the Post 14 Eagles to a 5-0 win over Minot’s Post 26 Metros. Gage Orr was the sparkplug on offense for Jamestown, moving up from ninth in the order to fifth and going 2-for-3 with two runs driven in and a run scored. Connor Hoyt finished 1-for-1 with two walks and an RBI, and Brooks Roaldson brought in a run while going 1-for-2. As a team, Post 14 drew five total walks and was hit by pitches on three separate occasions. Nold tossed four scoreless innings, striking out four and allowing just one hit. C. Orr pitched the final three innings in relief, picking up a save and getting two Metro batters to strike out. He also drove in a run at the plate. The Eagles had six total hits as a team and did not make an error defensively. Jamestown left seven total runners on base. ....
