$300,000 renovation of Garner Park in Potsdam slated to start this month

POTSDAM Potsdam Village Mayor Reinhold J. Tischler announced today (Monday, May 3) that the village will begin the Garner Park Renovation Project this month.
Garner Park is located at the west end of Raymond Street on the Raquette River.
Dedicated to the late Ruth F. Garner, a long-time village trustee and mayor, the park was initially developed in the late 1980’s and is ready for a make-over, said a press release from the village.
“The renovation of Garner Park is the first step in the Village’s development of the Downtown Riverwalk Trail that will provide unparalleled access to Potsdam’s downtown waterfront,” said Tischler. ....

Sheehan Contracting wins contract to renovate Garner Park in Potsdam

POTSDAM The village board has awarded the contract for the Garner Park Renovation Project to J.E. Sheehan Contracting Corp.
The contract cost totals $262,925, which includes a base bid of $227,950 with a contingency allowance of $15,000, an alternate 1 fund of $4,200 and an alternate 2 amount of $15,775.
The project, designed by Chazen Engineering, Land Surveying & Landscape Architecture, will include erosion and sediment control, earthwork and topsoil replacement, paving, curbing, sidewalk construction and landscaping.
The project will also include installation of light pole bases and conduit, storm sewer and drainage improvements, fencing installation, signage, site furnishings and site restoration. ....
