Arts and culture can transform lives, increase confidence, and support significant health improvements.
Carlisle charity Prism Arts has seen this first-hand and is part of a new partnership developing accessible cultural experiences to improve people’s health and wellbeing.
The partnership is made up of Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery, Carlisle City Council, North Cumbria Integrated Care Foundation Trust, Carlisle Healthcare, Prism Arts, Susie Tate Projects and Cumbria Wildlife Trust.
They will be working with other partners to increase the uptake of social prescribing to help improve the health and resilience of a community that has been hit by COVID-19 and lockdowns. ....

NCIC biggest recruiters of Covid-19 study in north of England

A HOSPITAL trust research and development primary care team is one of the biggest recruiters for a Covid-19 study in the north of England.
The North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust’s team is working with Cumbria residents who have Covid-19 to help find treatments for the virus.
The research trial is called PRINCIPLE and is led by Oxford University. The Trust research and development primary care team has already recruited more than 3,000 patients and is looking for more.
Stacey Fisher, research GP for NCIC said: “We have been recruiting since March and so far, the study has recruited 3,000 participants. It is fantastic that so many patients, including Cumbrians, have already participated. ....
