Dublin VA receives COVID-19 vaccination

DUBLIN, Ga. The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin now has its first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine.
In a Facebook post, the Dublin VA said the facility received the shipment on Tuesday and secured it in the pharmacy s cold storage.
Chaplain Bryant provided a short prayer to acknowledge the scientific enterprise it took to deliver a safe and effective vaccine in record time as well as for our health care providers who will administer doses, the post says.
The post says teams at the Dublin VA have been planning to for this moment, and they re prepared to start vaccinating health care personnel and long-term care inpatients on Wednesday morning. ....

DUBLIN, Ga. (WALB) - The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center (VAMC) is starting COVID-19 vaccination with the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine following the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Emergency Use Authorization for this vaccine.
“Dublin VA is eager to offer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to health care personnel and community living center residents,” said David Whitmer, medical center director. “Receiving the vaccine is like having hope delivered. As vaccine supplies increase, our ultimate goal is to offer COVID-19 vaccination to all veterans and employees who want to be vaccinated.” ....

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Some Carl Vinson VA Medical Center employees tested positive for COVID-19. This is according to a news release from the VA Medical Center.
The news release states that the employees work at the Macon Community-Based Outpatient Clinic. The employees tested positive last week.
The employees are isolating at home to prevent the spread of the virus to other patients and staff, according to the news release.
In a statement, Medical Center Director David L. Whitmer said, “The safety of our Veterans and staff is our number one priority. We will take every precaution to ensure their safety.” ....

DUBLIN, Ga. The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin is sharing their plan for vaccinating veterans at their center and across Central Georgia. This comes as VA hospitals across the United States are starting to receive their COVID-19 vaccines.

DUBLIN â The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center will hold a town hall meeting via Facebook Live for veterans, their families and other stakeholders Monday at 6 p.m. The main topics will be an update on goals and objective from the medical centerâs strategic plan, the facilityâs COVID-19 response and vaccine distribution.
According to Medical Center Director David Whitmer, the town hall will be one veterans should not miss.
âWhile our focus this year has been COVID and our routines have been dramatically changed, we will update our veterans and community stakeholders on our progress on our strategic plan and what weâve completed while also responding to the pandemic,â Whitmer said in a news release. âWe will also update planning for COVID vaccine distribution.â ....
