HINESVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - A Hinesville church caught in the middle of two terrible crimes responded Friday with love for their neighbors.
Organizers had this food drop in the works already. But two almost-unspeakable crimes last week prompted them to do this now and take back their neighborhood.
Cars lined up hours before the food drop began and volunteers bagged groceries and more. Last week a deadly shooting across the street and a carjacking at this church had the pastor wanting to do something. ....

LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - After a carjacking and deadly shooting in Hinesville last week, a local pastor is hoping to bring positivity to where the tragic events happened.
Hinesville police say a woman was shot and killed at a convenience store on the corner of Memorial Drive and Gause Street on Jan. 20. Investigators say the suspect, who later turned himself in, ran across the street to Liberty Prayer Church and carjacked a woman outside. ....

Another Chance Outreach Ministry (ACOM) has been assisting low-income families and the families of those who have members incarcerated through their Season of HOPE program since 2016.
Season of HOPE began as a way to bless families who have a loved one incarcerated within the state of Georgia; by sending those Christmas gifts the individual behind the walls.
As each year passes the demand for assistance has increased.
In 2017, Season of HOPE assisted 42 local low income families and 35 gifts were mailed out to families of incarcerated men and women.
During the 2018 / 2019 school year Season of HOPE and partners like God’s Anointed Now Generation, Inc. extended ACOM’s service and assisted more than 50 students with book bags and essential school supplies. ....

With Christmas just two days away and many in need during the pandemic the folks in Liberty County continue to spread holiday cheer by helping others in need.
Last week several companies and organizations lent a helping hand to spread some holiday cheer.
Feeding those in need
A friendly in-office competition will help feed roughly 750 families this holiday season. According to owner Leigh Smiley the staff at Coldwell Banker Southern Coast (sales office) and Southern Coast Properties (property management office) stepped up their efforts this year. ....
