Following rising insecurity and reported strike by food item and cattle traders which has prevented food supplies to Southern Nigeria by Northern merchants, a Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators (CNDA) has threatened to cut off oil and gas supply to the North if the decision of Northern trader isn’t reversed in 30 days.
The coalition also resolved that for their various roles and utterances in recent events, the Buhari-led Federal Government should immediately effect the arrest of Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, a cleric who has been meeting with bandits in forests, and Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, who sanctioned the use of Ak-47 guns by Fulani herdsmen. ....

Owolowo inaugurates officers as Oyo gov pledges support for trade groups

The Oyo State governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, has said that the state governor will continue to partner with trade groups for businesses to thrive in the state.
Makinde stated this through his Special Adviser on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), Kunle Yusuf, during the inauguration of the new executive of the Owolowo Unit of the National Association of Cattle Breeders and Dealers, Oyo State, recently.
The governor also promised to continue to support trade associations with loans and making policies that would make it easier for them to conduct their businesses with ease.

Herders group condemns census for herdsmen, livestock breeders

An association of pastoralists, the Kulen Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, has criticised the proposed herders/livestock census in the country.
The association, in a statement on Monday by its National President, Khalil Mohammed, said the proposed census agreed to by another group, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, was in bad light.
Mohammed alleged that the MACBAN leadership initiated the herders/livestock census during a meeting with some southern governors in Akure, Ondo State.
He stated, “Though we are not objecting to people’s freedom of speech/expression of their opinions in all matters of national interest as stipulated in our well cherished constitution and in the United Nation Charter of 1945, but as one of Nigeria’s pastoralist stakeholders, who are keenly interested in anything related to the nation’s pastoral occupation, we strongly oppose and reject i ....
