Taking the guess work out of where to go eat is just one of the reasons Courtney Steinfeld founded EaterPass, a Houston-based community of people who love supporting local restaurants.
EaterPass, founded in 2018, gives its members access to insider pricing at partnering restaurants and bars. That includes 20 percent off a memberâs bill, including both food and alcohol.
âIâve always been a fan of creating great experiences,â Steinfeld said. âI always look for the trifecta: great food, great service and great ambience.
When COVID-19 tumbled the hospitality industry into an uncertain year, Steinfeld decided EaterPass had to do more, so in February she pivoted EaterPass with a new mission to advocate for local restaurants and bars and to give back through charity.

Nick Wong has been promoted to executive chef of UB Preserv.
With new restaurants on the way, Underbelly Hospitality announced on Tuesday some major changes to its internal structure. Namely, chef/owner Chris Shepherd has shifted from the executive chef role at his restaurants, though he will consult with each chef on his menu. The company is growing, and this has been the plan all along,â Shepherd said in a press release. My job now is to support the next generation of restaurant leaders. Each of these people have shown integrity, compassion, skill and empathy and have worked through so many challenges this year. I can t wait to see what they ll accomplish next.
