Barclays FA Women's Super League joins social media boycott

The Barclays FA WSL and FA Women’s Championship have joined with The FA, Premier League, EFL, PFA, LMA, PGMOL, Kick It Out and the FSA in a social media boycott.
From 15.00 on Friday 30 April to 23.59 on Monday 3 May, social media will be boycotted in response to the ongoing and sustained discriminatory abuse received online by players and many others connected to football.
This has been scheduled to take place across a full fixture programme in the men’s and women’s professional game and will see clubs across the Premier League, EFL, WSL and Women’s Championship switch off their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. ....

Salisbury FC to join social media boycott in fight against racism

SALISBURY FC is to join the planned social media boycott across English football this weekend.
A coalition of English football’s largest governing bodies and organisations including the Football Association, Premier League and EFL will go silent on social media next weekend in a show of solidarity against racism.
The FA Women’s Super League, FA Women’s Championship, Professional Footballers’ Association, League Managers Association, PGMOL, Kick It Out, Women in Football and the Football Supporters’ Association will also suspend all use of their social media accounts from 3pm on Friday April 30 until 11.59pm on Monday May 3.
Salisbury said that although it relies on these outlets , it believe that action needs to be taken to persuade companies like Facebook and Twitter to prevent the far too prevalent hate and abuse that many are subject to on these platforms . ....

Aylesbury United to boycott social media due to racial abuse


A non-league football club in Bucks will be boycotting social media over the Bank Holiday Weekend due to online racism.
Aylesbury United, who currently ground share with Chesham United, will not use any of their platforms in Twitter, Facebook and Instagram from 3pm on Friday, April 30 to 11.59am Monday, May 3.
This is due to players who play at all levels across the country being racially abused through the internet.
