Cardinal 5K Run/Walk set for June 26 along Greenway

MUNCIE The Cardinal Greenway is kicking off its Cardinal Summer series of events with the Cardinal 5K Run/Walk June 26. It will be offered in both Muncie and Marion.
The Muncie edition will be a timed, competitive race that will start and finish at the Wysor St. Depot and include the Hughes Nature Preserve, new Kitselman Bridge and trailhead, John Craddock Wetlands Nature Preserve, Cardinal and White River Greenways. Marion will offer a family friendly, fun run/walk that will travel from the Marion Depot to the Miller Ave. trailhead and back.
Registration for the Muncie event is $20 for adults and $10 for students. Marion is and $10 for individuals or $20 for families. All prices increase $5 June 19. Online registration closes June 24. Day-of registration opens at 7 a.m. June 26 in Muncie and 8 a.m. in Marion. Start time is 8 a.m. in Muncie and 9 a.m. in Marion. ....

I believe I speak for all Delaware County residents when I say that 2020 cannot end fast enough. New Year’s will take on special meaning this year as we joyfully witness the passing of this monstrous annum. It’s not that our problems will evaporate on Jan. 1, but the New Year holiday does offer a date of symbolic renewal.
The end of the year is also a time to register blessings. I’m thankful for my family’s good health and that I’m still employed. I’m also deeply grateful for our community’s vast network of greenspaces and trails, which preserved my sanity these past 10 months. ....
