NEWARK - COVID-19 has had a major effect on the 2020-21 school year, for students, educators and parents alike.
The pandemic has forced an adaptive learning environment, which has created challenges. But teachers have risen up and still positively impacted their students, sometimes in ways they don t even realize.
For the 22nd consecutive year, the Coughlin Automotive Group has decided to honor some of those teachers with its You Made A Difference awards. To date, Coughlin has provided over $140,000 for the awards program, which honors a teacher in each of Licking County s 10 public school districts, plus C-TEC, Licking County Educational Service Center and Newark Catholic.

Spring and summer in Granville may look a bit more like they did in 2019 than last year if current COVID-19 trend-lines continue.
In a monthly stakeholders’ COVID-19 virtual meeting, Granville-area officials discussed the likely return of proms, in-person graduations, familiar summer events and community concerts as COVID-19 infection rates continue to decline and the numbers of those vaccinated in the community rise.
Last year, various concerts and annual staples such as the July 4th parade and downtown festival, among many others, were scrubbed by pandemic conditions and some students had to make-do with virtual commencements and no proms or homecoming dances.
