GRANVILLE – They’re two people in their 30s, from two very different places, who got married and came to Granville to start a business. They are Chase and Jess Butcher, owners of Butcher & Co. Photography.
Chase grew up in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. “Growing up in a ski town was awesome,” he said, “but I didn’t realize it then. I loved skiing and hiking growing up. I spent a lot of time outdoors and that has continued to be a big love of mine as an adult. I’ve always dreamed big and had multiple dream jobs growing up, from being a dentist to an architect. I was all over the place. Photography was a big interest of mine, but I always had the stigma of the starving artist in my head, so I shied away from it.” ....

NEWARK - After a 2020 spring lost to the pandemic, Licking County high schools are gearing up for a prom season that will at least retain some semblance of normalcy.
Graduations, of course, were also significantly altered last year by COVID-19, and are also taking shape with new looks for this year. Both prom and graduation plans are being submitted to the Licking County Health Department for approval.
In the case of Granville and Newark Catholic, proms already took place on Saturday this weekend.
Due to the pandemic, our seniors have missed normal events dating back into their junior year, said Granville principal Matt Durst, whose school s prom was held Saturday night at Bryn Du Field House. While our prom looked different than a traditional prom would have looked pre-pandemic, we were happy to provide them an opportunity to have this experience. ....
