Here's how and when Tulare County plans to inoculate


There is light at the end of the tunnel.
But, for the vast majority of people, it could be months before they are eligible to receive the highly touted COVID-19 vaccine. Health officials say the vaccine won t be widely available until mid-to-late 2021. 
So far, about 15.4 million doses have shipped throughout the country. That’s just shy of the 20 million doses U.S. officials had promised to distribute by the end of 2020.  
While the public waits, the virus continues to spread at alarming rates throughout Tulare County. 
As of Sunday, just over 3,102 Tulare County residents had been vaccinated, according to Timothy Lutz, Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency Director. That s a vaccination rate of about 22% rate, below the already low state average of 30%.  ....

COVID-19 vaccines start moving through first phase in El Dorado and Alpine counties


EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - During both the South Lake Tahoe City Council meeting and the El Dorado County Board of Supervisor meetings on January 5, questions were asked of the health care professionals as to when the public can expect to be vaccinated for COVID-19.
Barton Hospital President/CEO Dr. Clint Purvance told the Council that over 60 percent of the hospital s top tier have been vaccinated and they will be receiving their second round Tuesday or Wednesday. He said they have seen some minor reactions such as a sore are, but nothing different than what the studies showed on test groups. ....
