Cecil County Agriculture and Hostetter Grains have joined up to present a Grain Marketing meeting on April 6.
This is a free, virtual meeting running from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Much like everyone and everything else, the pandemic has had an effect on grain prices and commodity crops. For that reason Bill Hostetter will offer listeners the tools he uses for successful marketing and tips for not just surviving, but thriving.

Application of highly efficient advanced farming technology to improve Lobu Smallstock Farm product pedigree is critical to meet international market standards, President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has said.
Speaking at a Rural Development Council (RDC)meeting on December 21, President Masisi pointed out that high competition and demand for quality characterised international markets.
He said given that Botswana had secured small stock markets in Saudi Arabia and other countries, there was need to use information communication technology (ICT) to improve production efficiencies at the farm in order to meet market demands. ....

Responding to Crisis and Building Resilience With Biofortified Crops in 2020

The year 2020 brought enormous challenges affecting societies, economies, and people everywhere. For HarvestPlus, the top priority amid COVID-19 disruptions was to consistently innovate in order to minimize risks to food supply chains and to protect access to nutritious crops.
HarvestPlus and partners adopted new practices to ensure that smallholder farming families can still access and plant biofortified seed, receive training and technical support, and stay connected to crop markets. We focused on to making sure that vulnerable rural communities continue to receive health, immunity, and livelihood benefits from nutrient-rich crops.

Botswana has, through the Department of Meteorological Services (DMS), promised to maintain the target of 15 per cent reduction of emission of Green House Gases (GHG) into the atmosphere.
In 2015 countries outlined what climate actions they intended to take under the new international agreement, known as their Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs).
These determine whether the world achieves the long-term goals of the Paris Agreement: to hold the increase in global average temperature to well below two degrees Celsius, to pursue efforts to limit the increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius, and to achieve net zero emissions in the second half of this century.
