The colors of the painting almost jump off the canvas.Upstate artist Shaquille Ellis used acrylic paints and artificial flowers from Walmart on a 30-by-40-inch canvas to create a stunning 2D portrait of what he calls a beautiful, strong and vibrant Black woman. He calls the piece “Flawless Flower,” and it will be one of many on display Saturday at his pop-up gallery when he takes part in Greenville’s New Black Wall Street showcase.The video above shows more of Ellis s art and a few of the other 34 businesses taking part in the event.The showcase, organized by Carlita Avery and Fredrica Wright, will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sterling Community Center, 113 Minus St. Ellis grew up in Anderson and graduated from Greenville’s Southside High School.
