Greece and Turkey will resume exploratory talks which had been suspended over territorial claims in the Mediterranean Sea which brought them into conflict last year.
The Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry on Monday announced that the 61st round of exploratory talks between the two countries would take place in Istanbul on 25 January. Diplomatic sources from the Greek ministry state that the Turkish side contacted the Greek one to suggest the resumption of talks.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said Athens was seeking a “fertile and productive” relationship with Turkey.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Monday said that he would like to discuss all issues now that the Turkish sesmic vessel Oruc Reis, which caused previous talks to flounder, has since returned to Turkey. ....
