Cases and testing continue to climb in Adair County. More than 20,396 tests have been conducted in Adair County and some of the surrounding counties, according to a Wednesday release from the health department.
The positivity rate is currently 12%. The CDC recommends that positivity rates be maintained at less than 5%. That positivity rate is reflected in results from the Dec. 7 drive-through testing conducted by the Missouri National Guard.
There were 273 people tested with 35 resulting positives for a rate of 12.8%. The positivity rate among the 244 Adair County residents tested was roughly 12%. ....

At the beginning of November, mask mandates were mostly a city thing in Missouri.
St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield and Columbia enacted them over the summer and so did some of their suburbs, but most other communities left it up to personal choice.
As Gov. Mike Parson, a Republican, declined to impose a statewide rule again and again, it looked like things would stay that way.
But as Missouri recorded its worst month of the pandemic yet in November, hospitals cried out for help and converted enough cities and counties to nearly double the number of mask orders on the books. ....

Prior to that, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri in 2010 where she graduated magna cum laude.
After graduating, she practiced internal medicine/pediatrics as a foundation to her eventual goal of exclusively practicing dermatology. Conservation offices closed as COVID-19 cases rise

HANNIBAL â The Missouri Department of Conservation has closed its offices to public, in-person contact in Hannibal and Kirksville due to concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Offices will remain closed to visitors at least until early January. MDC staff will continue to monitor conditions and will reopen offices as soon as public health conditions warrant. The emergency closures are in direct response to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services classifying numerous counties in Northeast Missouri under the âextreme riskâ category due to the regionâs COVID-19 positivity and case rates.
Across the region, outdoor conservation areas, natural areas and river accesses will remain open to the public, though visitors must practice physical distancing, and wearing a mask covering mouth and nose when distancing is not possible.
