Publicity photo Another sign that things are returning to normal goes up on the grassy lawn at Two Rivers Park in Glenwood Springs Wednesday evening with an eye toward a full return next summer. Though the Glenwood Summer of Music was suspended the past two summers due to restrictions on public gatherings caused by the pandemic, the summertime concert in the park returns for a one-off show from 6:30-9 p.m. Aug. 4. The night will feature a pair of local music groups, the True Story Band and A Band Called Alexis. The concert is free and open to the public. ....
Wake boats are churning controversy around Lake Minnetonka Katy Read, Star Tribune At a recent meeting of the Midwest Wakesurf Association, co-leader Andy Weigman had some good news to share: Wake boats have been less noisy this year, he d been told by the leader of an organization that usually complains about them. It looks like we re making a positive impact, Weigman told about 20 association members gathered in a backroom of the Excelsior Brewing Co. The association has about 75 members from around Minnesota and Wisconsin and more followers on social media wake surf newbies and pros alike, ranging from teenagers to their middle-aged parents and occasionally grandparents. ....

BSA Troop 606 Honors 9 Eagle Scouts Yasmine Fukushima is Irvine s first female to achieve the rank. Posted On IRVINE Scouts BSA Troop 606, led by former Boys’ Scoutmaster Greg Nylen (currently Chris Bank) and Girls’ Scoutmaster Thomas Doherty and chartered by the University United Methodist Church in Irvine, is proud to announce nine scouts who recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout at its first-ever virtual Eagle Court of Honor ceremony that was held on Feb. 8. This class of Eagle Scouts includes Irvine’s first female Eagle Scout. Scouts BSA, formerly Boy Scouts of America, has officially allowed females to join the scouting program and earn the rank of Eagle Scout since Feb. 1, 2019. Troop 606 was one of the first in Irvine to welcome female scouts and Yasmin Fukushima has been inducted as one of 1,000 in the inaugural class of female Eagle Scouts that was honored by a National Scouts BSA on Feb. 20, 2021. ....
