Pharmacy tech charged with aggravated battery at Hoffman Estates imaging center

A 41-year-old Deerfield man who police say injected a contrast solution into a patient at a Hoffman Estates imaging center without having the training or license to do so was ordered held on $100,000 bail Tuesday.
Omayr K. Niazi was charged with aggravated battery, forgery and wire fraud. If convicted of the most serious charge, he could face from four to 12 years in prison.

As a condition of his bond, Niazi, who prosecutors say has a pharmacy technician license, may not work in the medical industry, per Cook County Judge Ellen Mandeltort s order. ....

A 22-year-old man who authorities say fled police in a stolen vehicle was held without bail Friday on charges he attacked, choked and attempted to sexually assault a 57-year-old woman in her Schaumburg home.
Kenneth Hernandez is charged with home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, attempted aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and aggravated battery. If convicted of the most serious charge, he faces from six to 30 years in prison.

Prosecutors say the woman s daughter and the daughter s friend saw Hernandez near the woman s house on April 14. Hernandez rang the doorbell and the woman, who knew him, allowed him to enter, said Assistant Cook County State s Attorney Kristina Modesto. A former employee at a church-run Barrington day care was held on $50,000 bail Thursday on charges she carried toddlers by their arms and ankles, pushed one boy s face into the ground and threw shoes at a girl.
Annmarie Dziedzic, 36, is charged with multiple counts of aggravated battery to a child.

According to Barrington police, the charges stem from several incidents that occurred at the Lutheran Church of Atonement in Barrington where Dziedzic was employed as a child care worker.
Prosecutors say the instances occurred between June 2020 and February 2021. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services initiated an investigation on Feb. 4 after receiving an anonymous tip. Police and the church initiated investigations in conjunction with DCFS, police said. Dziedzic no longer works at the facility. ....
