When you enter the Ravalli County Administration Center to pay your taxes, register your car or see the county commissioners, you are walking the same hallways as nurses and doctors did 90 years ago in what was then the Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital.
The building has its 90th birthday July 1st. That day in 1931 it opened to the public. Though the hospital built a new facility on Westwood Drive in the 1970s, the original building is still in sound condition and now serves as the county s main office facility. ....

Order the new letterhead and the signs - Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital is changing its name. Because of its continuing expansion of services throughout the Bitterroot Valley, the whole group of 13 clinics will come under the new name Bitterroot Health. For instance, Hamilton s hospital, which is the flagship facility of the group, will be known as Bitterroot Health - Daly Hospital. Two newly developed locations will be known as Bitterroot Health - Stevensville and Bitterroot Health - Darby Scripps.
The management of the hospital will stay the same - it s only the name that is changing. Largest Ravalli County COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Is Saturday
A Ravalli County community vaccination event will have 975 Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine doses Saturday. The inoculations are
by appointment only and will be given to people who are already on lists from a number of vaccine providers in the valley, though the clinic will be conducted by Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital in Hamilton. The Pfizer doses are from an unused supply that Governor Greg Gianforte released statewide and are being stored an an ultra-cold freezer from Hamilton s Rocky Mountain Laboratories.
It will
not be a walk-in clinic. Doses will be provided to people who have preciously signed up at various health provider lists and are in the Phase 1 A or 1 B categories. First COVID-19 vaccines arrive, death toll rises

Ravalli County received its first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine this week.
Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital began vaccinating its frontline healthcare workers with the 400 doses of the Moderna vaccine it received Wednesday.
The hospitalâs spokesperson, Christina Voyles, said vaccinations were expected to continue Thursday âdespite the holiday, as many are anxious/excited to receive it.â
Voyles said the vaccine is only being offered to hospital staff and other county healthcare workers who are in high-risk or clinical roles. The remaining hospital staff will be able to receive the vaccine when the next shipment arrives.
âSince this first shipment was a reduced amount, weâve had to ensure those in the most contact and highest-risk positions be the first offered the vaccine,â Voyles said. ....
