A line of young men and a few adult leaders on bicycles, all in matching white shirts, black shorts and helmets, pedaled triumphantly into sunny St. George with sore muscles and fatigue Wednesday afternoon.
As the group rolled to a stop near the St. George Utah Temple, another youth walked among them, aiming a water gun and squirting cool liquid on each rider. ....

City officials are in talks with state and MaineGeneral officials about using the Augusta Civic Center as the site of public COVID-19 vaccination clinics, but no agreement has been reached to move forward.

The Augusta Civic Center, seen here in April 2020, could potentially be the site of a mass vaccination clinic. State, city and health officials have been considering whether establishing a a vaccination clinic would impact the Legislature’s ability to meet there. City officials have noted the facility can easily accommodate both uses.

“I enjoyed the intimacy with my family and I’ll never ever forget watching my two boys pass the sacrament in my own home,” Kirby said. “That was one of the most special things I’ve ever been able to experience. To be honest, I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about going back to church because I enjoyed it so much.”
But even with fewer members, face masks and a list of safety guidelines, there was something equally “special” about returning to church a few months later.
“While I do miss and still love some of the weeks that we get to have the sacrament at home, there’s nothing like gathering with the Saints,” she said. “You can feel that when you are together.” ....

The 130th Maine Legislature has yet to start its work in earnest, but some Republican members of the House and Senate already are expressing dissatisfaction over their committee assignments.

In a broadside on Facebook, Rep. John Andrews of Paris took aim at House Minority Leader Kathleen Dillingham of Oxford for not giving him the committee assignment he wanted. He said he is leaving the Republican Party for the Libertarian Party and encouraged other dissatisfied Republicans to do the same. ....
