VLPRA bring holiday joy with Christmas cards cruise

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - Valdosta-Lowndes Parks and Recreation Authority (VLPRA) is bringing some holiday cheer to the community with its Christmas Card Cruise.
As you drive down Freedom Park in Valdosta, you’ll find Christmas postcards. Different organizations and businesses drew them and sent them in.

Jessica Catlett with VLPRA said there were 22 submissions.
VLPRA provided the supplies.
Catlett said the creations blew them away.
“The point of the cruise is really just to bring the holiday spirit to the community, to have something for people to come and enjoy, it’s been a really rough year for a lot of people. So we just wanted to put something out there that would make people happy, and it certainly has done that,” ....

Freedom Park dons new holiday cards

A welcome card sits near the entrance of Freedom Park leading into the 22 Christmas Card Cruise entries. The cruise is hosted by the Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks and Recreation Authority in Freedom Park. 
VALDOSTA – Entering Freedom Park is more festive than usual as reminders of Christmas line the park s roadway. 
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks and Recreation Authority hosts the Christmas Card Cruise, a collaborative with individuals, businesses and organizations to display colorful holiday cards. 
Participants were tasked with decorating a sheet of plywood reflecting the theme. Photos of the cards are posted on the authority s social media so the general public can vote for their favorites; a winner will be announced noon, Dec. 21.  ....
