Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has condemned outrightly the recent simultaneous attacks by recalcitrant bandits on Gobirawa, Gora, Rini and Madoti Dankule villages of Maradun and Bakura Local Government Areas of the state where innocent lives were lost.
The government also condoled with the families of those who lost their lives in the sad event, saying that he is taking every necessary step to ensure that the culprits are brought to book.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the state commissioner of Information, Hon. Ibrahim Magaji Dosara and made available to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital. ....

EFCC, DSS, Police strengthen ties against corruption in Nigeria

Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, the Department of State Service, DSS, and the Nigeria Police have pledged to intensify their collaboration in the fight against corruption.
Heads of EFCC Zonal Offices in Kaduna and Ilorin, visited the Director, DSS and the Police Commissioner respectively.
In Kaduna, Harry Erin told the State Director, Ahmed Idris Koya that he was visiting to familiarize himself with heads of security agencies.
He thanked the DSS for its support to the commission especially in intelligence, tracking of criminals engage in money laundering and terrorism financing.
He recalled that with the help of the DSS, two suspects were recently arrested, one of them charged to court and convicted. ....

Christian lawyers raise alarm over state of the nation

The Christian Lawyers Fellowship of Nigeria, CLASFON, has observed with dismay the worsening state of insecurity leading to constant kidnapping/abduction of students in the Northern part of the country.
The lawyers lamented that, “the alarming increase in banditry, kidnapping, and communal clashes have occasioned unquantifiable human and material losses and displacement of indigenous communities.”
In a communiqué issued at the end of its physical and virtual President-in-council meeting by Arome Okwori and Olatunji Omole, National President and National Secretary of the fellowship respectively, it noted that, “The recent kidnapping/abduction of students in Kankara in Katsina State, Kagara in Niger State, Jangebe in Zamfara State, and students of the Federal College of Forestry, Mando, Kaduna State, is worrisome.” ....

Polycarp Zongo, a pastor at
COCIN Wild Life Park Jos, Plateau State, was supposed to join Christians across the globe to celebrate Christmas and the new year, thanking God for witnessing the end of 2020, but that did not happen.
Mr Zongo celebrated these two festivals in captivity.
He, alongside two women, were abducted by the Boko Haram terrorists on October 19, 2020.
In a viral video released by the sect two weeks after the kidnap, the pastor explained how he and the two unnamed women were kidnapped while travelling from Jos to Gombe State. ....
