Norfolk Community Foundation launched the competition to coincide with Norfolk Day, and to highlight the work of local and inspirational community and voluntary groups. The Foundation received many photos illustrating the amazing work that local groups have been doing to benefit their communities at a time when their need has never been greater as a result of Covid-19. Norfolk Community Foundation has created Opportunities4Communities Facebook group where people can play a vital role in supporting charities, community groups, voluntary organisations by posting what help they want to offer. Organisations joined up to the project can then reply to specific listings and go direct to to people who want to get involved. Claire Cullens, chief executive of Norfolk Community Foundation, said: “There are so many people in Norfolk desperate to do something good for their community or neighbourhood and part of our job is facilitate this. We are extremely excited to see Opportunities4Communities gather momentum and become the first stop for charities looking for support, and those who want to help. ....

The Plug the Gap campaign, launched by Norfolk Community Foundation (NCF), alongside Candour and Osiris Technologies, will focus on raising funds to provide internet access and digital devices to young people who are not in school. Plug the Gap follows the Every Child Online campaign which NCF has been running, alongside this newspaper and Norfolk County Council, to help disadvantaged children gain access to online learning by asking for laptop donations or funds to purchase digital equipment. ....

An estimated 6,000 in the county are without a digital device to complete online learning, with 1,000 families believed to have no way at all to connect to the internet. Today, this newspaper is launching the Every Child Online campaign, alongside Norfolk County Council and the Norfolk Community Foundation (NCF) to shorten the digital divide during the pandemic by asking businesses and individuals to donate their unused devises to support a child s learning. ....
