Sturgis Charter School students give gifts to cancer patients

A new student club at Sturgis Charter Public School’s west campus aims to make the emotional side of treatment for cancer patients in Falmouth a little easier.
Juniors Kate Donahue, Jacqueline Sastry and Raquel Collins started Treats for Treatment last fall at the Hyannis school to create unique gift boxes for cancer treatment patients at the Clark Cancer Center in Falmouth.
“While some cancers can be treated with limited side effects, other treatments take a significant physical and emotional toll on the patients,” Kate said. “If they’re having a tough day, maybe they’ll get a little gift box to lift their spirits.” ....
