Hundreds of homeless people in Glasgow have received Covid-19 vaccinations as part of an GCHSCP outreach programme.
Hundreds of homeless people are receiving their first Covid-19 vaccinations in Glasgow thanks to a major mobile operation.
Teams of nurses are visiting temporary accommodation and support services to provide injections in a bid to reach people whose transient and often chaotic lifestyles would have hindered attendance at vaccination centres.
Glasgow s Health & Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) is co-ordinating the huge logistical operation with nurses from the city s Homeless Health Outreach Service carrying out vaccinations at up to 50 locations across the city including, the Homeless Services centre in Hunter Street and the city s Homeless Hub in Argyle Street. ....

Homeless people move out of hotels continues

The number of homeless people accommodated in hotels during the lockdown has reduced by around a quarter.
At its peak there were around 600 homeless people people in B&B and hotel accommodation in Glasgow.
The council said that has been reduced by around 150 as people are found accommodation working with social landlords. It is expected it will reduce even further as more people are offered settled accommodation.
One of the hotels used, the Alexander Thomson in Argyle Street, closed last month for refurbishment.
All the people who were housed there were moved out to other spaces in the city. ....
