The Master Gardener Plant Sale is next weekend, Saturday, May 15 at the Clinton County Fairgrounds and I hope to see all of you! I realize I have already mentioned this event in an earlier column, but I wanted to acknowledge the Master Gardeners and all their efforts for this sale and what the proceeds of this event go for.
First off, the Clinton County Master Gardeners are OSU Extension volunteers that have gone through many hours of training and learning about many horticulturally related topics. In return, they provide literally hundreds of hours each year of volunteer service and education back to the Clinton County Community through several community activities. ....

May is Community Action Month, and as part of the celebration of I would like to say a public thank you to the staff and board of Clinton County Community Action.
The staff at the agency has worked during the COVID-19 pandemic remaining open to provide continuous services to Clinton County residents in need of assistance covering ages 3 and up. They taught students, provided meals for seniors, cleaned for seniors, provided transportation for seniors as well as housing for both families and seniors.
In addition, during this difficult period they were there as a support to each other as well as to me. ....

WILMINGTON The Clinton County Homeless Shelter expressed gratitude to the community for a busy yet unusual year due to the pandemic at its board meeting held via Zoom on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
In 1988, the Clinton County Services for the Homeless “the Shelter” opened its doors and became the first emergency shelter in a rural Ohio community. For more than 32 years, the support of our Clinton County Community has enabled the Shelter to continue its mission of providing emergency shelter, compassionate care, and support to the homeless and underprivileged while remembering each resident is a person of worth. ....

Port authority set to move forward in 2021; reports 26 applications for CARES Grant funds

WILMINGTON The Clinton County Port Authority Board at its December meeting approved agreements with three vendors to provide services for 2021.
DigiCom Systems, LLC, provides and maintains the access control and surveillance systems for the Wilmington Air Park. The annual agreement covers software upgrades, hardware maintenance and replacement, as well as technical support.
“These systems are essentially ‘ground zero’ for the security systems throughout the Air Park,” said Dan Evers, Executive Director for the Clinton County Port Authority.
Agreements with Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc., (JLL), and Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease, LLP, also were approved by the board. ....
