BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge area is experiencing its third day in a row of freezing temperatures and thousands remain in cold homes without electricity, as of early Wednesday, Feb. 17.

Unexpected cloud cover throughout the area on Tuesday, Feb. 16 prevented temperatures from rising above 32º, according to WAFB First Alert Chief Meteorologist Jay Grymes. ....

Clinton Man Accused of Strangulating Girlfriend

A Clinton man was arrested and charged in Custer County recently after he allegedly assaulted his live-in girlfriend in front of a child.
According to a probable cause affidavit, 32-year-old Christopher Gene Jenkins was arrested on January 30, after police were dispatched to a home in the 1300 block of Prairie Chief Avenue.
When police arrived they met with the suspect who stated that he got into an argument with his girlfriend. Jenkins stated that it was only a verbal altercation and it did not get physical.
However the reporting party told police that Jenkins allegedly pushed his girlfriend’s head into a window in the bedroom and then began choking her. ....

Tyler Petersen, a tow truck driver for Downtown Auto Clinic in Clinton had a really frustrating night on Monday. While out helping people get their cars unstuck and plowing snow, he stopped inside a local restaurant to get a quick bite to eat only to find his tow truck gone. ....
