A DUBLIN MAN, who has admitted to conspiring to murder gangland criminal Wayne Whelan, may have his name published following a ruling from the Central Criminal Court.
Cailean Crawford (25), of Clifden Terrace, Ballyfermot admitted to conspiring with others to murder Whelan at Griffeen Glen Park, Lucan, Co Dublin between 15 May and 15 November 2019.

KARACHI: Unidentified suspects allegedly stole 1.2 kilogrammes of gold and Rs8.5 million in cash from a jewellery shop in Karachi’s upmarket Clifton neighbourhood in the early hours of Monday in what appears to be the month’s second suspicious heist in the city. The owner of the shop, which is located in the Teen Talwar area, claimed that the suspects used cutters to break in and made off with over 1.2kg of gold and Rs8.5 million in cash. According to the initial police investigation, nine CCTV cameras are installed at the shop but none of them is working. Police have collected fingerprints from the shop and initiated further investigation. SHO Shabbir Haider said that the shop owner, namely Yasin, claimed that he had found the locks on the shutter broken after reaching the shop at noon on Monday. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published its annual Bathing Water report for 2020.
With summer approaching and the coronavirus restrictions easing its results will be encouraging for citizens keen to head to some of our pristine beaches for a dip. The EPA surveyed 21 beaches in Donegal and found water quality at the vast majority to be ‘excellent’. In Inishowen Culdaff and Stroove received the highest rating while Portsalon and Ballyhiernan in Fanad were also awarded top marks.
The waters at Lisfannon and Rathmullan were graded ‘good’ while the front shore at Buncrana (Lady’s Bay) received a ‘sufficient’ mark.

The A453 in Clifton was blocked after a lorry shed its load.
Highways England says traffic is unable to pass on the the southern route, which leads from Clifton Lane and towards the M1 along Remembrance Way.
Pictures show the obstruction on the roundabout in Clifton at Farnborough Road.
The incident happened just after 4pm today (Monday, May 24)
Highways England said: We are taking reports that the A453 south is blocked near Clifton, Nottingham due to a lorry shed load.
We have resources en-route as do Notts Police. Update to follow. ....
