Sagicor commits to matching part proceeds raised from Sigma Run 2021

The annual charity road race is aiming to raise $50 million dollars for three beneficiaries - the Annotto Bay and Port Antonio Hospitals, as well as to develop a one-year programme to get the nation’s children back on track with their education.
“All donations received during this week (February 15
th – 19
th), Sagicor will match it; over the years, the funds raised for our beneficiaries would come from race registration, tent rentals, cash donations and fund raising executions among Sagicor team members; this year because the run has to be primarily virtually; we won’t see the usual participation of some 25,000 people and we want ensure we meet our target”, said Christopher Zacca, President and CEO, Sagicor Group Jamaica. ....

Briana Williams announced as patron of Sigma Run

Double World Under-20 sprint champion Jamaican Briana Williams will serve as the race patron for the 2021 Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run.
The US-based Williams shared that she is happy and honoured to be named as the patron of the run.
The Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run is in its 23
rd year and has raised over $450 million dollars for some 40 beneficiaries, with a focus on health and education. Last year, the event raised a record $55.3 million dollars for beneficiaries – Bustamante Hospital for Children; Savanna-la-Mar Hospital, and Clifton Boys Home.
This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the run will primarily be virtual with participants running on their own and submitting their times. Sagicor first introduced a virtual run component to the event last year, February for its 22 ....
