A Shelby author has taken the Bible to help him tell the story of ancient Black nations.
One of the most read books in the world has a lot of lessons people can still use to learn about their heritage, said author and historian Ronald Harrill.
Harrill, 70, drew inspiration to write Children of Genesis: The Black Nations in the Old Testament while studying to present Sunday school lessons in church, he said.
Some of the old empires that I have studied before started popping up in the old Sunday school stories, Harrill said. I didn t know the Old Testament writers also knew of the old Black empires that I knew of. ....
