‘We are in the business of memories’ By GWEN SWIGER Posted 2/14/21 When the coronavirus put a halt to many of the library’s in-person activities, Margot Still, history branch manager, started looking at other ways of engaging residents in local history and the History Branch of the Cleveland Bradley County Public Library. Although the History Branch had been sharing online activities on Facebook since 2016, its offerings began to expand. One of its newest features is short documentaries on people and organizations in the community. Another focus is its Unknown but not Forgotten photos. They also may have a photo sparking interest and talk about a local building, road or place. ....
Posted 1/27/21 The Bradley County Health Department inspects restaurants and grades the businesses on a 100-point scale. Priority violations require correction measures immediately; if not possible, then the priority violations must be corrected within 10 days. Once corrected, the restaurant will receive the points back for the violation. Restaurants are reinspected if they fail to meet critical Standards. The scores are original and do not reflect on-the-spot changes, which sometimes lead to upward, adjustments. If follow-up scores are available at the time of publication, they will be included. If inspections are supplied to the Cleveland Daily Banner at the end of the prior month, but after publication of the monthly report, they will be published in the next month’s report.
