NSW and Queensland weather: Flood warning for east coast as dangerous thunderstorms bring heavy rain

As severe storms and heavy rain drenches large parts of the state, New South Wales residents are being warned of the possibility of flash flooding.
There is a severe weather warning for heavy rainfall in parts of the NSW Hunter, Central Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains and Central West Slopes and Plains Forecast Districts.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours.

The owners of a local equestrian centre were given the surprise of their lives last night after a freight train derailed, spilling cargo onto their Nana Glen property.
Michelle Muller of Hill Top Farm Riding Centre said the experience had been quite surreal since they heard the accident occur.
And despite the dramatic scene Ms Muller was relieved that both the driver and her horses emerged unharmed.
A train has derailed onto The Hilltop Farm equestrian centre off Morrows Road in Nana Glen. Property owner Michelle Morrow was relieved the driver of the train and her horses were all unharmed. ....

Flooding has caused havoc across the Coffs Coast with the Orara River bursting its banks, inundating roads and cutting off towns in the process.
The town of Nana Glen has been split in two with the Edward Sharpe Bridge sitting below more than three metres of water which, together with flooding at on Bucca and Morrows Road, means many residents are now stranded.
Local Nana Glen RFS captain John Lardner and some of his fellow brigade members are stranded at home, unable to assist, likening it to being on an island .
There has been significant flooding across the Coffs Coast as the Orara River rose to more than 10 metres. Pictured here is Edward Sharpe bridge and Morrows Road. Coffs Harbour floods. ....
