‘Big sigh of relief’: Hundreds vaccinated at Eastern Michigan University’s Convocation Center

YPSILANTI, MI Hundreds of people received the Pfizer vaccine at Eastern Michigan’s Convocation Center Tuesday, Feb. 9, as part of the Washtenaw County Health Department’s ongoing vaccination efforts.
The 438 people who got the first dose of the vaccine at the athletic facility were mostly essential workers and people age 65 and older.
Ann Arbor resident Adrienne Maley was among the hundreds of people who received the first dose. She described the experience as a “big sigh of relief.”
“I’ve been waiting for this. I’m 80,” Maley said, minutes after receiving the vaccine. “I really miss being with my family and grandkids, I have a new grandbaby coming in two weeks and I don’t know if I’ll be able to hold him.” ....
