FARGO, North Dakota The Eastern Washington Eagles are plenty familiar with FCS playoff games. Saturday, though, they’ll play one of those games in April for the first time.
The COVID-19 season has been a strange one in college football, with games just getting underway in late February.
The Eags started the season with a loss at Idaho, but have won five straight heading into Saturday’s game against North Dakota State. The Bison are 6-2 this season.

The NCAA Tournament begins on Thursday, March 18th with the First Four, and then moves on to the first round on Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16. The No. 3 seed Kansas Jayhawks will face the No. 14 seed Eastern Washington Eagles in the first round. Game time has yet to be announced but we will update this article with that and game odds as soon as it comes available. Kansas posted a 20-8 overall record throughout the 2020-21 season to this point, while going 12-6 in Big 12 play for a second-place regular-season finish. Eastern Washington held a 15-8 overall record and 12-3 in conference during the 2020-21 season, winning the Big Sky Conference Tournament for an automatic qualifier bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles have won 13 of their last 14 games after a 1-4 start to the season.
