LEWISTON Michael Dymkoski got Pastime Club out of a hole and Josh Murphy got Pastime past Franklin County in a 3-2 American Legion victory on Tuesday.
The Flyers carried a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth and were one out from taking that lead into the sixth inning, but Dymkoski’s two-out, two-run double even the score at 2-2.
Neither team broke the tie until the bottom of the seventh. Pastime’s Brodi Farinas led off with a hit and later scored the game-winning run on Murphy’s RBI single. ....

PARIS For the second consecutive weekend Oxford Hills completed a walk-off win against a stout opponent.
Saturday saw Oxford Hills suddenly end a 3-2 win against Lewiston in the bottom of the seventh in the first game of a doubleheader. The Vikings then rolled to a five-inning, 12-0 victory in the second game at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
After earning a walk-off walk in a victory against Bangor a week ago, the Vikings were ready to play in the seventh inning again after enduring a solid pitching performance from Lewiston’s Josh Murphy through six innings. ....

AUBURN He didn’t have the easiest high school career, but Owen Drummey learned and grew from adversity, and made playing hockey look easy.
Drummey, Falmouth High’s do-it-all player and natural forward, closed out his four-year career by winning the Travis Roy Award on Sunday during a small ceremony at Norway Savings Bank Arena.
“It feels great. It’s a true honor, with everybody that has won this trophy in the past … it’s just a complete honor to win it,” Drummey said. ....

Will Cassidy's leadership elevated the Edward Little program

Instead, it will be the elevated state of the Red Eddies boys hockey program.
“The first thing is we grew as a program,” Cassidy said. “We only lost one game, which is a big advancement from last year (when) we lost 10 in a row. We became more of a cohesive unit, we tried to grow each and every year, and the success we had this year shows the process is working.”
The senior captain had two goals and eight assists in 10 games played this season. He is the first Edward Little player to be a finalist for the Travis Roy Award since Ben Steele in 2016. The Red Eddies have had two Travis Roy winners, Kyle Smith (2004) and Josh Benson (2002). ....
