Family Ice Fishing Event Set For February 14th
Each year, the Penobscot County Conservation Association puts on a free Family Ice Fishing event to promote sporting heritage and wildlife preservation in our state. In all my years as a Mainer, I had never been ice fishing up until a few years ago, when a friend of mine suggested we take our kids and try it out. I can tell you, it was a memory my children still talk about to this day. Was it cold? Yes. But it was totally worth braving the elements to see the look on their faces when those flags would go up and they got to pull a fish from the frozen water. ....
