According to a news release, the graduates of Class 517 received 800 hours of recruit-level instruction over 20 weeks and major training areas included patrol procedures, defensive tactics, criminal law, firearms, criminal investigations, cultural awareness, bias related crimes and tactical responses to crisis situations. By: Brittany Toolis GUTHRIE, Oklahoma - A Guthrie man is in custody after two teens accused him of molestation, and investigators think there could be more victims. The abuse reportedly happened Friday at the Guthrie Edmond Regional Airport in an airplane hangar. One of the victims knew the suspect through his father, so police said he felt safe being alone with the him. Michael Malatesta was arrested on Monday on six felony complaints of sexual abuse to a minor under 16. It appears that this was somewhat of a friend of the family, said Guthrie police Sgt. Anthony Gibbs. Malatesta bought a plane from and worked for one of the victim s fathers. ....
Authorities are investigating the death of a Crofton woman who was found deceased in a Todd County home Friday afternoon. Kentucky State Police say Guthrie Police were called to a home for an unresponsive male and found 25-year-old Melissa Sheerin dead inside the home as well. The home had no electricity or heat. The man whose name has not been released was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for hypothermia. Police say no foul play is suspected in the death and believe that the woman died as a result of hypothermia. ....
