(KFVS) - A COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Doniphan will be hosted by the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center and Mark Twain National Forest. The event is open to veterans, their spouses and their caregivers. The Johnson & Johnson Janssen vaccine will be used. “After careful review and evaluation, the FDA and CDC have confidence that this vaccine is safe for use and effective in preventing COVID-19,” Bailey Wells, Chief Nurse and clinic coordinator, said. “And only one dose is required of this vaccine.” ....

An Arkansas man pleaded guilty in federal court today to illegally damaging and removing more than two dozen trees from a national forest. Jamie R. Edmondson, 46, pleaded guilty before U.S. Chief Magistrate Judge David P. Rush to one count of depredation of government property. By pleading guilty today, Edmondson admitted that he illegally cut and removed 27 walnut and white oak trees in the Mark Twain National Forest in Barry County between June 1, 2019, and Jan. 31, 2020, without the permission of the U.S. Forest Service, which owns and manages the national forest. Edmondson sold the timber to various sawmills in the area. ....
