After 198 regular season matches, 1,188 Brownlow Medal votes, 4,575 regular season goals (and a further 172 goals in the finals series) and another season impacted by COVID-19, we have finally, very nearly, reached the end of the road. St Kilda were lucky to play in the Thursday night game in Round 5. Very lucky.
While the Saints have copped a little bit of heat after their 86-point loss to Richmond, it wasn’t nearly enough for a team that was in the top six last season, had designs on a top-four position this year, and have lost twice in 13 days by 75 points or more.

Garry Lyon believes North Melbourne “got off lightly” in the aftermath of their 59-point loss to the Gold Coast Suns last weekend.
The Kangaroos were brushed aside by the Suns at Metricon Stadium, kicking just five goals and conceding 14 as they slumped to a 0-2 record under new coach David Noble.
Lyon feels the Roos did largely escape criticism during the week after their disappointing performance and has concerns for them ahead of Friday’s clash with the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.
“I feel like they absolutely deserve the heat. In fact I think they got off lightly last week against the Gold Coast Suns,” Lyon said on
