La Crosse County Health Department inspectors talk about Riverfest food safety

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)- Before Riverfest started, food vendors met with La Crosse County Health Department representatives to make sure they are prepared for the busy event.
“What we do is we work with the event organizers ahead of time to ensure they know all of the regulations for the food trucks or the food stands that they have here,” said Health Department inspector Nicole Kragness.
And if the vendors aren’t following the safety codes, the health department will find out.
“The day before the event, we come through make sure everyone’s licensed and do an inspection for all the stands here,” Kragness said. ....

COVID-19 vaccination clinics coming to Onalaska's Omni Center

ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – The first in a series of COVID-19 vaccine clinics will happen Saturday in Onalaska.
The Vang Council of La Crosse is partnering with the La Crosse Community Foundation, Great Rivers United Way, La Crosse County Health Dept., and the City of Onalaska.
The clinics will be at the Omni Center.
Saturday’s clinic starts at 9 a.m.
Anyone who is eligible for the vaccine can take part.
More clinics are planned for May and June.
