Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has laid out an ambitious plan to eradicate poverty, improve health care, create basic infrastructure, provide housing, stop mortgage evictions, mitigate unemployment, modernise higher education and tangibly elevate the State’s living standard to that of developed nations within the next five years.

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has suspended the award of Rs25 billion worth contract, which the federal government gave last week to monitor production of four tax evasion prone sectors as part of a condition of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The court granted stay order after the bidders raised serious questions over the manner the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) handled the process and allegedly compromised transparency in award of the five-year deal worth minimum Rs25 billion. ....

Responding to the grievances of people, the ACR said that 80:20 ratio of (Locals: Non Locals) shall be ensured by committee in recruitment process at all stages. Various components of R&R plan were also discussed in the meeting and participants were informed that Water crisis, repair of HS Patharnaki building, payment of pending compensation, construction of protection wall etc shall be ensured in time bound manner. ....

A Grievances Redressal Committee (GRC) on Sunday visited the site of 624 MW Keru Hydro Electricity Project (HEP) in Jammu and Kashmir s Kishtwar district to resolve the issues of locals, an official spokesman said.
The residents raised several grievances like seeking preference to local youths during recruitment in the project, payment of pending compensation under Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Plan, water supply scheme for adjoining hamlets and a protection wall along the link road to Keru project site, the spokesman said.
