So, we are 13 weeks away from the UN Food Systems Pre-Summit, hosted by the Government of Italy in July. How are things going?

First, some basics if you are new to this: UN Secretary General Guterres has called a Summit in September of all UN member states to address how to make food systems better able to tackling global hunger and malnutrition (static or on the rise prior to COVID and now rising fast due to COVID-19) while sustainably operating within planetary boundaries. He asked Dr. Agnes Kalibata to be the Special Envoy for the Summit. ....

CPUC Asks Court to Reconsider FCC's Maintenance of Net Neutrality Repeal

On Thursday, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) filed a petition for review, asking the D.C. Circuit to review the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) final rule to maintain its repeal of net neutrality, entitled âRestoring Internet Freedom; Bridging the Digital Divide for Low-Income Consumers; Lifeline and Link Up Reform and Modernization.â
In the Federal Register, the FCC noted that it issued this final rule after the D.C. Circuit asked it to âassess the effects of the Commissionâs
Restoring Internet Freedom Order on public safety, pole attachments, and the statutory basis for broadband internet access serviceâs inclusion in the universal service Lifeline program.â The original FCC order controversially rolled back net neutrality in favor of more light-touch regulation of broadband internet access service.
