WATERTOWN – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Francis (Plevka) of Waterbury. Born in Danbury on June 19, 1919, she passed away on Dec. 21, 2020, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends.
Mary was predeceased by her husband John, son Raymond, grandson Scott, and son-in-law William Dubauskas. She is survived by children, Donald Francis (spouse Deborah) of East Haddam, Jean Dubauskas (Watertown), Thomas Francis (spouse Cleide) of Oxford, and daughter-in-law Gloria Francis (Waterbury), and their many children and grandchildren.
During her life, Mary encountered and overcame more obstacles than one can imagine. From childhood, working on the family farm bringing vegetables to market via horse and wagon, through the Depression into World War II; when husband John was recruited into the Navy leaving her to raise first born Raymond by herself. ....
