Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Davis Sr. NEWPORT NEWS Kenneth “Kenny” Davis Sr., 61, was born July 17, 1959, in Baltimore, Md. He transitioned Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Kenny enlisted into the U.S. Army at an early age and left Baltimore for basic training at 17 years old in 1977. From there, he was able to travel the world and build a foundation for his and his family’s life. He fulfilled many roles while in the U.S. Army, but he found his niche as an attack helicopter technician, specializing on the aircraft powerplant for the Apache airframe. He directly contributed to U.S. support during the Nicaraguan conflict, served in the Gulf War, Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. ....
Lt Col Elaine Sue Houser Sue Houser, passed away peacefully at the age of 71, on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Amita St. Joseph Medical Center. Sue was born on June 16, 1949, the daughter of the late Ralph and Phyllis (nee Ness) Houser. She was raised and educated in Chicago, IL and Alma Center WI, and was a graduate of South Shore High School and received her Nursing Degree from South Chicago Community Hospital and was a proud graduate of the University of Iowa. Subscribe Sue was a proud decorated Veteran of the United States Air Force Reserves. She was a Flight Nurse and Air Reserve Technician with the 63rd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron at the 928th Airlift Wing, O Hare Air Reserve Forces Facility. Sue rose to the rank of Lt Col retiring with twenty years of faithful service. Staff Writer ELKINS The American flag at Elkins City Hall was flown at half-mast on Friday in honor of Donald R. “Donnie” Pritt, who passed away at the age of 73 last week. Pritt was a familiar face at City Hall, where he served for many years on the Elkins Police Civil Service Commission. He was an integral part of the hiring of numerous Elkins Police Department officers, including nearly every one that is currently employed with the EPD. Pritt was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1966 and Magna Cum Laude graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Military Management, from the University of Charleston. He worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service before joining the West Virginia Army National Guard, where he was a recruiter for many years received numerous awards for his excellent recruiting. He served 42 years in the West Virginia Army National Guard and received numerous ribbons upon his retirement. ....
