AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Today, Amarillo City Council approved the 2020/21 Community Development Block Grant and HOME Partnership Annual Action Plan.
This includes $546,867 for Tenant Based Rental Assistance for low income tenants.
The overall action plan approved is $1,695,314 for various programs, including partnerships for new construction and affordable housing.
The action plan, formulated by the City of Amarillo Community Development Advisory Committee and public hearings, will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. ....

City to mull Community Development funding

During Tuesday s virtual regular session, the Amarillo City Council is expected to consider a resolution to approve the 2020/2021 Community Development Block Grant and HOME Partnership Annual Action Plan. Included in the allotment, per documents, are funds that would be used to help residents with rental assistance.
According to the Agenda Caption, a public hearing is also slated regarding the item. The Community Development Block Grant funding total is $1,695,314, per the Agenda Caption, and the HOME Partnership Annual Action Plan allotment is $720,693.
