UKRI signs Worth Internet Systems for digital funding service

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) has appointed digital agency Worth Internet Systems as its development partner in building a new digital funding service.
They have signed a two-year contract as part of a longer term digital transformation programme to harmonise the funding process for the nine research councils within UKRI. This is aimed at streamlining processes for applicants, assessors and administrator in the roll out of up to £8 billion of funding per year.
Worth has been working with government grant providers Innovate UK and Eureka over the past seven years.
Anne Sofield, director of the Simpler and Better Funding programme at UKRI, said: “We’re looking to make a real difference to our users, and our colleagues at Worth play a critical role in ensuring the voices of researchers and innovators, administrators and our staff are heard. User feedback will be the true test of whether we have succeeded, and Worth have a great track record in research and design ....

Future of UK treescapes – UKRI

UKRI (NERC, AHRC and ESRC), Defra, Welsh government and Scottish government invite proposals for grants as part of the Future of UK treescapes programme.
The call will support grants that address one or more of the programme’s themes:
theme one: forms, functions and values of UK treescapes
theme two: opportunities, barriers and pathways for expansion of UK treescapes
theme three: resilience of UK treescapes to global change.
Proposals are expected to take an interdisciplinary approach bringing together environmental scientists, social scientists, economists and, arts and humanities researchers to form substantial research collaborations.
Proposals that only involve collaboration between researchers within the remit of a single research council are out of scope. ....

The Medical Research Council (MRC) has announced a call for proposals for the
Public Health Intervention Development (PHIND). Proposals can include qualitative and quantitative primary research and the development of theory and logic models; however, emphasis should be placed on developing the intervention.
Examples of the focus of health-related, population-level interventions include:
Transport, education, employment, leisure and the built environment.
Healthcare settings are not excluded, but projects should demonstrate the potential for improvement.
The health of general, high risk or vulnerable populations.
Eligibility Criteria
Any UK-based researcher with an employment contract at an eligible research organisation can apply for this funding opportunity. ....
