Some housekeeping staff are at the top of the list for the COVID-19 vaccine
MASSACHUSETTS (CNN) – The first COVID-19 vaccine is here, but it’s not just doctors and nurses who are getting it first.
At the VA Bedford Healthcare System in Massachusetts, Andrew Miller a housekeeper in the Environmental Management Service was the first employee to get the Pfizer and BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine Monday afternoon, the hospital said.
Miller isn’t the only one, either. As hospitals around the country receive the first shipments of the vaccine, some housekeepers are finding themselves at the top of the list.
In Lexington, Kentucky at Baptist Health, a member of the housekeeping staff along with an intensivist, an ICU nurse and an emergency room nursing assistant were among the first to get the vaccine’s first dose Monday. ....
